Unity Bank was founded in 1970 as Waterside Workers' of Australia Credit Union by a group of dedicated waterside workers who couldn’t get financial help from the big banks. They recognised there’s a need to form a mutual financial institution that will help and benefit all maritime workers and their families.
Since then, Unity Bank has grown to service union workers, their families and local communities from various industries including mining, power, electrical and meatworkers. Thanks to the Members' loyalty and support, Unity Bank has grown into a strong and healthy financial institution that is still Member-Owned.
