Vale Jodi Dack

Dear Comrades,

On behalf of the MUA Division of the Construction Forestry Maritime Mining and Energy Union, I extend our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to Brendan O’Connor and the O’Connor family at this grievous time of loss on the passing of Brendan’s wife Jodi.

Brendan and Jodi, together with their daughter, have courageously and with great dignity and love faced the long battle with Jodi’s cancer. Their patient, optimistic and intensely private determination has been a constantly inspiring and enriching experience for all of their friends, comrades and extended family.

At this crushing time, we wish Brendan and his family to know that our thoughts, prayers and deeply felt empathy is with them in the hope it may in some small way ease their great burden of grief.

Brendan’s wonderful contribution to the inaugural National Conference of our new union was in the full knowledge of the rising gravity of Jodi’s medical condition. Our Union will be forever grateful for the great sacrifice and commitment that contribution stood for - from both Brendan and Jodi, their daughter and the extended O’Connor family.

Vale Jodi Dack. Dearly loved mother and wife. Comrade and sister. Now at rest.

Sincerely and in Unity,

Paddy Crumlin

National Secretary, MUA Division of the Construction Forestry Maritime Mining and Energy Union
