Dear Fellow Workers,
The Bowen community experienced the loss of Martin Cunningham, a well-regarded figure in the local community, due to the traumatic event that took place off the coast of Port Denison on Wednesday 25 May 2016.
Martin was highly regarded among the community and a friend to many in the local maritime industry. The sad loss of Martin is one that will be widely and deeply felt among the small and very tightly-knit Bowen community for some time.
The Maritime Union of Australia officials, members and staff wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of the deceased and the rescued workers. You are in all of our thoughts and prayers during your time of grief and healing.
