MUA, ITF and other Global Maritime Union Officials were present in London to lay wreaths for Merchant Navy Remembrance Day in London.

The MUA wreath read: "In respect and memory for those Merchant Seafarers who gave their lives in peace and war so that others could live theirs. Vale Comrades."

Dean Summers, ITF Australia Coordinator, laid a wreath on behalf of MUNZ President Joe Fleetwood who could not be present, whilst National Secretary and ITF President Paddy Crumlin laid a wreath on behalf of the MUA.

Over 38,000 British Seafarers perished during the Second World War. 1 in eight Australian Merchant Seafarers died as well during that period.
