Strike called off, yesterday, as port and union reach agreement on pay and conditions

MUA workers at the Port of Esperance have won a new three year enterprise agreement which includes a 6 per cent pay rise backdated from November last year, and a 2.5 per cent incremental rise in July.

A planned 48-hour strike at the Esperance Port for yesterday was called off after last minute negotiations reached agreement.

The EBA covers around 60 members of the Maritime Union of Australia.

At the Port of Esperance maritime workers have not had a pay increase since 2006 and the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement has been in negotiation for 12 months.
