Walk a Mile In Her Shoes came early this year and it was held on the Perth foreshore along the banks of the Swan River, starting and ending at the Bell Tower. ALP candidate for Fremantle, Chris Brown participated with MUA Officials and members.
This year saw an amazing group of participants strap on their stiletto's, wedges, sensible heels and an assortment of ballet flats, jelly shoes and slippers alike to raise awareness about ending violence against women and children. We had a great contingent of MUA walkers and supporters, thanks to the guys and gals who were once again there to support such a great cause.
On average, 1 woman is killed per week by a current or former partner in Australia. In Australia, 1 in 4 children are exposed to domestic violence. 1 in 3 women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence perpetrated by someone known to them. By supporting Walk A Mile In Her Shoes Perth you are doing something to improve these statistics and save the lives of women world wide.

Our biggest donation to date has been by the way of a $5000 donation from SVITZER Australia, as well as a generous donation from the National Women’s Committee as a part of their National Conference Fundraiser.
Such an important issue and so much work still left to do. As at the end of March the Event has raised over $26,000 and still counting. We could not have done this without your support.
