Victorian Branch Secretary Kevin Bracken rallied the crowd and called on the Australian Government to better control Australia's fuel security.

"The loss of the Tandara Spirit tanker from Australia's coastal shipping fleet has put Australia into a precarious situation in regards to energy security," Bracken said.

"Like many of our other industries our energy supply is almost wholly at the behest of foreign interests."

No now from Viva Energy came out to address the protesters that also included a speaker from Victorian Trades Hall and the Australian Workers' Union.
