Dock workers in Sri Lanka are on a go slow demanding more pay
'GO-SLOW' tactics by dockers have cut productivity yesterday at some Sri Lankan ports by up to 50%, shipping agents told Fairplay magazine.
Dockers began their three-day 'go-slow' campaign disrupting cargo loading and discharge operations at Colombo's government-run terminals yesterday.
Udeni Kaluarachchi, head of the port trade union alliance, said they will continue the campaign until demands were met.
Transhipment operations at Jaya Container Terminal were especially affected, Fairplay reports.
Productivity has dropped almost by 50 pre cent at some facilities.
