Sealink

Published: 29 Apr 2020

Sealink have very much taken a Covid-19 related hit. The large tourist numbers usually travelling to Kangaroo Island have disappeared.
However, with the ferries providing an ongoing vital link to the Mainland – transporting fuel and other essential supplies as well as transport for the locals- the impact on employment has not being as bad as it otherwise might have been. One ferry continues to operate, with the work being shared across the two crews.
Sealink is eligible for the JobKeeper payments so we are working out how we can ensure that all the money the Company receives ends up in workers pockets. This will be no small challenge!
