NT picnic day a great turnout

Published: 10 Aug 2009

The 2009 MUA NT Branch Picnic day was held at the Jingili Water Gardens. It was the best turnout for a picnic in a number of years and the families that attended enjoyed a day to remember.

A fairy lady entertained the kids with face painting and balloon tricks and a water slide provided some fast paced action. The annual foot races had some determined kids who put their all in to recieve their prizes at the finish line.

Everyone was a winner but special mention has to go to the girls who once again defeated the boys in the tug of war contest. The boys tried their hardest with some help from some of the men but the girls were still triumphant in the best of three contest.

The day was made special due to the many people who contributed their time and effort this year.

From the organising committee through to the mums, dads, members and freinds the participation in this years picnic was awesome and certainly appreciated by the smiling kids and families.

The branch thanks the companys who donated to the picnic this year. Darwin Port Corporation, Patrick, Giacci, POAGS, NT Hire, NT Shipping, PINTS Club and the members on the OMS Discovery were all generous in supporting the day. Also thanks to Cosimo Flora for donating his own coin towards the kids prize money.
