Notice of Proposed Alterations to the Rules of the Union Lodged with the FWC

On 13 October 2016, National Council in session approved proposed rule changes arising out of 2016 National Conference resolutions. Additionally, on 22 November 2016, National Council approved by National Council Vote 119 proposed rule changes arising out of 2016 National Conference resolutions.

In accordance with Rule 64(e) of the Rules of the Union, the Rules of the Union may be changed by National Council, subject to the endorsement of members at a Special Meeting of members of the Union.

At a Special Meeting of members held in November and December 2016, the proposed rule changes approved by National Council were endorsed by members.

In accordance with the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Regulations 2009, the proposed rule changes have today been lodged with the Fair Work Commission for certification. The Notice of Particulars of Rule Alterations lodged with the FWC can be viewed here 

One rule change concerned Rule 3 Eligibility Rule of the Rules of the Union and in accordance with the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Regulations 2009, is the subject of a separate Application for consent to the alteration of eligibility rules of an organisation also lodged with the Fair Work Commission todayThe particulars of the rule alteration the subject of that application can be viewed here
