The Maritime Union of Australia says its officials and members are in no way connected to the illegal importation of cigarettes on Australia’s waterfront.
Media reports stating “maritime officials” are misleading and do not refer to the union.
The MUA is not aware of any of its members or officials being charged, or involved.
The Australian Federal Police has had no contact with the MUA in regards to the incident.
