Chevron questions applicants about medical matters that have no impact on job

Published: 10 Oct 2013

Statement from Assistant National Secretary Ian Bray on Chevron's medical questionnaire.

I am not surprised that Chevron, yet again, is displaying this type of attitude to  its workforce.

I believe some of the questions include asking about whether or not an applicant is able to conceive, or whether someone is using contraceptive.

This is not only deeply offensive but also has little to do with someone's ability to do any job, whether it be offshore, or behind a desk.

The Maritime Union of Australia will not abide this kind of behaviour by any company.
