March Women's Activities

Rally, Fundraising dinner, National and Regional women's Conferences, are just a few of the things Maritime Women are participating in this March, 2004.

Monday March 8th- International Women's day. (IWD)
There are various women's functions, seminars, etc being held across the world to commemmorate this day celebrating working women.

Saturday March 13th- IWD Rally
Sydney women are meeting at 10.30 outside Townhall for an 11am Rally, marching with other transport union women under the International Transport Workers (ITF) "Women transporting the world" banner.

Sunday 14th March- MUA National Women's conference.
30 Maritime women converge in Sydney to network, brain storm, and take forward their agenda for the following week of the MUA Quadrennial delegates conference.

Monday 15th March- MUA welcome and fundraising dinner hosted by CNSW women.
7pm for 7.30 pm at the Gallipoli Club, Circular Quay. Over $15 000 worth of prizes and Auction items on the night, icluding games and cash prizes. Dinner tickets are $25 each, bookings essential, limited to 120 people. All welcome.

Monday 15th-19th March- Quadrennial National delegates conference.
For the first time in Maritime History 10% of conference participants will be female members from ALL sectors and employers of the maritime industry.

Wednesday 24th-26th March- ITF Women's regional education Seminar held in Wellington New Zealand.
Part of the ITF Women's tranporting the world comapign focusing on March as a month of action.
