French wharfies strike tonight02 June 2003
French waterside workers, members of CGT and its Ports and Docks affiliate FNPD (Féderation Nationale des Ports et Docks) will shut down ports on June 3, Lloyds List reports. The industrial action is to protest against the government's pension reform plans. On Saturday 150 demonstrators gathered at St Malo to occupy the port's ferry terminal, delaying departures more than three hours. More blockades are expected at St Malo this week.
