MUA Protest to Protect Jobs Garners National Attention

Published: 21 May 2015

More than 100 MUA members and supporters gathered outside of the Sydney’s Marriott to protest the Government’s announcement to unravel coastal shipping.

Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss met with ‘industry stakeholders’ to discuss his new policy in an industry luncheon.

Scared by protesting workers, Truss snuck in through a back door.

Assistant National Secretary Warren Smith attended the event and asked questions of the Infrastructure Minister.

Meanwhile, outside members chanted and made themselves heard, while National Secretary Paddy Crumlin addressed the media.
