MUA GOLF DAY 2015

Published: 11 May 2015

The annual MUA Tasmania golf day was held again this year on ANZAC Day at the Burnie Golf Club. There were 14 teams who entered and everyone was treated with great weather plus a BBQ breakfast and lunch, on course refreshments and of course more refreshments with the presentation of the prizes.

Each team received a prize and the winning team also picked up a new perpetual trophy.

We had many sponsors who donated money or goods for prizes, they included: Maritime Union Australia, Maritime Mining & Power Credit Union, Toll/ANL Shipping, AJL, MDC, BRM Refrigeration, Toll Shipping Social Club, Peter Spinks, The Burnie Club and the Burnie Golf Club.

Because of the generosity of the before mentioned sponsors and with the running of a raffle on the day, we are very pleased to announce that we have been able to donate $700.00 to both the Montello Primary and Romaine Park Primary Schools Breakfast Programs. This money will assist with the purchasing of breads and spreads for the consumption of the students at these schools who utilise the breakfast program. There are upwards of 80 children who use this program each and every school day. For some, it is the only way they receive a nourishing start to their day.

This day would of course not be possible without all the volunteers who donate their time and energy. The combination of generous sponsors and wonderful volunteers makes for a great day all round. Thank you to all involved!!

Hope to see you all again next year!
