Record crowds forecast for May Day30 April 2005By MUA news - On the eve of the Government taking control of the Senate and legislating against workers on behalf of big business people are mobilising in record numbers this May Day. "May Day is traditionally a rallying point for workers," said Sydney May Day Committee Secretary Warren Smith. "And this year we've had a big response from the community. People are alarmed at reports of what's in store after July 1." Mr Smith said that it's not just about an attack on unions but on all workers. "The changes will impact on all Australian families," he said. "We are urging everyone to come, march with your mates and bring your family."
