Bass Strait Pipeline

The Bass Strait pipeline project, due to commence in November
2001 has been awarded to Dutch company Allseas.
Inspection of Lorelei the pipe-lay vessel used for the job was
held in August, with discussions on crewing manning to follow
appointment of the marine contractor.
The marine contractor must be a respondent to the Maritime Union
enterprise agreements.
The project is expected to take three months with potential work
following the pipelaying.

This offshore project due to commence sometime in November in
the Northwest of Australia was subject of a briefing between Australian
Mines & Metals and the MUA in August.
CSO Venturer will return for this project with pipe-lay vessel
CSO Apache.
