Dungeons & Dragons

AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Richard Trumka: "In a nation built by workers and our families union busting has become a cruel game like 'Dungeons and Dragons,' only the victims are real.

The cold reality for workers and our unions in the United States is that corporations and their executives are picking our pockets with one hand and controlling our government with the other. The new global economy is now apparent in all its ugliness ‹ multinational corporations aren't just gaming the rules, they are writing the rules."

Sharan Burrow, President ICFTU and ACTU ³John Howardıs attack on workers basic rights is set to become a campaign watched by the world. Australian workers will take great heart from the pledge of solidarity demonstrated from Pacific union.² ITF Executive officer and Maritime Union of Australia National Secretary Paddy Crumlin.³The ILWU CFMEU and MUA are proud to have put this thing together and we want them to continue in building the strength and character of our movement while sending a clear signal to those commercial and political interests that put profit before people, money before morals and war before peace.² said ITF Executive officer and Maritime Union of Australia National Secretary Paddy Crumlin.

James Spinosa - International President ILWU: ³We should not just get together when we have a problem. We should always be confident we are not alone. Resolutions that come from this conference will set the stage for the future.² Randall Howard - General Secretary, SATAWU: ³As South African Mining and Transport workers we stand in solidarity with Australian workers. The attack on their rights is an attack on ours.² Joe Fleetwood and Terry Ryan, MUNZ: ³Conference reinforced the opinion that the only way forward is a commitment to globalising solidarity - the workers united will never be defeated² Alex Rawali, PNG Maritime workers union: ³Itıs third world countries like mine that bear the brunt of globalisation. Itıs very timely that this conference has eventuated.² Frank Leys, International Transport Workersı Federation Dockers Secretary . "We are confronted by the same forces, the same enemy,"
