    Dinner with Paul Hill
    Paul Hill is one of the ‘Guildford Four’, on whom the internationally-acclaimed film In the Name of the Father was based. Paul is one of the four Irish people who were arrested and physically assaulted by British Police in 1974. Sentenced to natural life imprisonment for IRA bombings, he and his co-accused spent 15 years in jail in England protesting their innocence before the convictions were overturned and the British government admitted that they had suffered a gross miscarriage of justice.

    New Sydney Branch Committee
    The Branch Committee met recently and put procedures into place to elect a new Branch Committee for the next four years. Rule 28, of the MUA Rules, state that a Branch Committee will be elected by the membership, the Branch Committee will be representative of all areas of coverage, and the election will be held separately from the Quadrennial Elections, but as far as practicable shall be conducted at the same time as those elections.
