Stamp out Union Busting

By MUA Stevedoring Division

International Transport Workers' launch campaign to protects stevedoring workers worldwide

Union-busting has long been a problem that unions have had to face and port workers' unions are no exception. In the last few years, with the acceleration of port privatisation, liberalisaton and globalisation, the problem of union-busting has become even more acute.

The international campaign against union-busting aims to:

* To stop and ban union busting in the port industry

* To promote ratification and full implementation of basic ILO Conventions on trade union rights

* To educate all stake holders, including employers and authorities on trade union rights and to promote a basis for mutual respect

* To strengthen trade unions
