- Newcastle
  
  Newcastle is one the oldest unionised ports in Australia with the biggest tonnage port in Australia.
- Northern Territory
  
  Known as the Gateway to the North, the port is the nation's hub for trade in the region and is rapidly expanding.

  Covering members in the seven ports of Thevenard, Port Adelaide, Port Pirie, Port Lincoln, Port Giles, Whyalla and Wallaroo.

  The Southern New South Wales Branch covers over 600 members from Port Kembla to Eden.

  The Sydney Branch is the largest city port branch covering around 2,230 workers from all areas.

  The WA Branch spans from Albany and Bunbury in the south to the far north of the Pilbara, with many ports in between.
Industries
- Diving
  
  The MUA covers 100 professional divers on the shores of our capital cities, below offshore oil and gas facilities and on dive tours.
- Ferries
  
  The MUA represents workers on Sydney Ferries and The Spirit of Tasmania. This includes seagoing and shore staff.
- Offshore Oil and Gas
  
  Australian seafarers work on drill rigs, tugs and support vessels in the offshore oil and gas industry here and abroad.
- Port Services
  
  Maritime workers work in bulk facilities and in port authorities in maintenance, boat services and towage.
- Shipping
  
  Australian seafarers work around the coast shipping domestic cargoes of goods, oil, ore and carrying our multi-billion LNG exports.
- Stevedoring
  
  Stevedoring workers, dock workers, known best in Australia as WHARFIES, make up the majority of MUA members.
