For the teacher

Collectively trade unions have been a dynamic force in shaping
Australia's social and cultural history. However this contribution tends to be overlooked, ignored, or forgotten, a process in which the collective spirit of the Australian 'character ' is neglected in favour of individualism.

The following provides a basic overview of the
Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) designed for students; it requires student computer access and involves answering questions based on information publicly available on the MUA website including the Historical Overview which forms part of this educational package.
